Real Golf Improvement for Real Golfers
Welcome to the heart of The Original Golfer’s Co – where we talk about actually getting better at golf, not just dreaming about it.
What You’ll Find Here
This is where I share everything I’ve learned about improving at golf as a 12-handicap who’s been grinding for years. No magic fixes, no “one weird trick” – just honest advice about what actually works.
You’ll find posts about:
- Course Management – How to play smarter, not just harder
- Practice That Works – Drills and routines that actually improve your scores
- Mental Game – Dealing with pressure, bad shots, and golf’s mental challenges
- Common Mistakes – What I’ve learned from years of making every mistake possible
- Realistic Goals – Setting improvement targets that make sense for your game
Who This Is For
Perfect if you’re:
- Shooting anywhere from 85-100 and want to improve
- Tired of golf tips that sound great but don’t work
- Looking for advice from someone who’s still figuring it out
- Realistic about improvement (it takes time and work)
Not perfect if you’re:
- Looking for quick fixes or miracle cures
- Already a single-digit handicap (though you might enjoy the perspective)
- Expecting tour-pro level instruction
My Approach to Getting Better
After years of trying everything, here’s what I’ve learned actually moves the needle:
1. Course Management Beats Perfect Swing Most golfers can drop 5-7 strokes just by making smarter decisions. I’ll show you what I mean.
2. Practice Your Weaknesses, Not Your Strengths We all love hitting our favorite club on the range. But improvement comes from working on what we’re bad at.
3. Equipment Matters, But Not How You Think The right equipment can help, but it’s not about the latest and greatest. It’s about what fits YOUR game.
4. Mental Game Is Everything Golf is played between your ears. Learning to manage emotions and expectations is huge.
5. Consistency Over Hero Shots Boring golf often scores better than exciting golf.

I’m still working to get better myself. Follow along as I document what works, what doesn’t, and what I learn along the way.
Some days I’ll play like I know what I’m doing. Other days… well, you’ll get some great content about what NOT to do.
The goal isn’t perfection – it’s improvement. And maybe having some fun along the way.
